After a very worrying weekend which saw us using SAS type tactics just to get the coal in, we think we have brought some sanity to bear on this whole situation.

Firstly many thanks to sara3 and themas for their advice, it was really helpful.
We were verbally bullied by the company of "Enforcers" yesterday who told my husband that if he didn't pay a substantial amount off the 47K, a man was on his way to our house to remove our car and empty the house!! They refused, over the phone to arrange a payment plan. This morning we rang the gentleman who called at our house and he told us that the comapny who was making these threats, although having a Registered Office in Essex, was actually an Indian company and were making impossible demands on us, where nobody would be the winner. This chap knew that he couldn't take the car as it is not fully paid off yet and there was no way we had goods to that amount in our house. I Wish!!

So hopefully we will get everything back on track and normality will prevail. Thanks again.

I'm glad things are looking up. I would be interested to know the name of the company of "enforcers" if you care to post it.

Yes themas, their name is "Sherforce". Why do you ask?
Thanks. I know of quite a number of these (sometimes quite aggressive) outfits and was curious because your description of their antics seemed to me to be well outside any OFT guidance for debt collectors. However, I've never heard of them!
