Welcome to Title Builder Beta.

This small piece of kit is designed to make building your Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle question more effective. It should make finding your question easier for others and, the easier it is to find, the more likely someone is to answer it!

To build an easy to find question title simply select the paper and quiz, enter the quiz number if relevant and fill in the Publication Date. Once you’re happy click “Build Title” and the information should populate the Title field. Fill in the final required details of your question as you normally would, and click submit.

As this is a Beta we only have a limited number of papers and quizzes listed. If you think your favourite Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle should be listed here don’t hesitate to contact us.

Remember: You do not have to use the title builder - simply enter the title and question as you normally would and click submit!

Nope - not you. Same problem for me too. Have emailed them. But it being a weekend I don't expect them to solve the problem any time soon.

Thanks Paul - I've emailed them, but I haven't had a reply about Thursday's problems yet, so don't hold your breath.

I'm drawing it out on an empty 15 x 15 grid at the moment !!

If you are referring to the GKQuick as published in the Saturday Telegraph today (but un-numbered), then the version in the paper works with a 13x13 grid. Perhaps the clues on-line are a problem, in the paper the first 2 across clues are;
1a Barrel like container, 3a Grow weak.

Thanks Doc, but the grid is a mess, with large areas of solid black !!

The clues are OK, and I'm trying at the moment, with reasonable success, to map it onto a grid. Thanks for the tip - it wasn't quite working on 15x15.

I think they've tried to map a 13x13 on to a 15x15 and the computer has had a go. GIGO as they say !!

This might help with drawing the grid b=blank L= letter from down clue
Row 1,1a, b, 3a
Row 2, alternate squares L, b, starting and ending L
Row 3, 9a,b,10a, b ,L
Row 4, As row 2
Row 5, 11a, b12a, b
Row 6, L, 3b, L, b, L, 3b, L, b, L
Row 7 14a, b, 16a.
Then symmetry for the bottom 6 rows, ie reverse of rows 1 to 6, hope I got that correct.

Thanks for taking the trouble, Doc, but I managed to finish it OK - made it more interesting than usual. Your description may help someone else though.
