The Munsters - Pilot episode
2 Answers
I have got The Munsters complete first season DVDs which includes a pilot episode, My Fair Munster, but the episode is incomplete. It seems to finish half way through with Grandpa preparing a potion in the dungeon.
Was this episode meant to be incomplete? Have any of you seen it, or have you got the same DVD set?

I have checked out the Episode you are talking about its on Disc 6 bonus episode unaired and in colour and yes it does finish after a few minutes, notice it has a different Lily and Eddie. We also have the 2nd Season with bonus documentaries, this may explain why the previous episode was cut short? have not played that yet. I reckon the episode we are talking about was a screen take and they had not found their lily or eddie.
That episode shows how good it would have been if the studio had paid the extra to make the series in colour. I't s a pity that the My Fair Munster episode was incomplete.
However, apart from the colour, I think that it did need the changes that they gave it - the familiar, friendly appearance of Hermann; using Butch Patrick as Eddie; changing the name of Hermann's wife to Lily and even the better humour and story lines that we see in the series.
I didn't think much to The New Munsters when that was aired in the 1980s.
