I have a fruit tree in my garden and I would like to know what it is. Firstly I should add that the tree is in my garden in New Zealand. The leaf is oval shaped around 4 inches long and 3 wide with a waxy appearance. The fruit is green (at the moment but I haven't been here long enough to see it go any other colour yet), fairly small around an inch and a half round and it has a kind of 4 leaved hat on before it attaches to the branch. I wish I could upload a pic as I'm sure it would be much easier, just want to know what it is and if we can eat it!! Thanks in advance. Ted

It sounds like some kind of plum but without a picture who knows?
The feijoa is an popular fruit tree in NZ and AU. If it is, you may hate or love the fruit which should mature towards the end of summer (april).
