if you are doing this one today bear this in mind. i was named as winner about 6 weeks ago and have not had a cheque or the almanac yet. when i chased it up this week i was told they could not find me in their list of winners! they have since found my announcement and given me waffle about they are experiencing problems producing cheques to send out and are working hard to resolve the problem, but to me that hardly makes any sense and certainly does not hold up an almanac being sent out . have they run out of money and are about to be the next victims of the credit crunch! we need to know! happy xwording everybody, chris.

I was a runner-up last year sometime time and it took ages before I received my almanac, probably as long as a couple of months. I was also a winner on the Generalist Crossword for October and I haven't received that prize yet either. :-(( Jools

Chris&Wendy- told my husband about this the other day, he was totally shocked. Yet, he said that if your name was printed as a winner then they are obliged to offer you a prize + they cannot wriggle out of it- so keep on to them + contact as many independent advocates as possible to fight your corner, too. If David could slay Goliath then you can win over the Telegraph so try to stay upbeat + keep being assertive( with the help of others) until your voice is heard + you are suitably recompensed. No matter how impossible a situation may seem there is always a soloution so never give up hope please!! A fellow Telegraph puzzler, Beatrice :-)

If it's any consolation I won the first prize for October 18th GK Xword,my cheque for �200 plus the Almanac arrived on the 27th of Oct,so I had no problem with the DT

I won the Skeleton crossword from the Sunday Express on 2nd November and I am still waiting for my �100 cheque. They will attend to it in their own time no doubt!
