Pere is actually an addition to a French surname... to distinguish the Father, rather than the son with the same name.

No, Annie 1802, Abbe is more correct.... a Cure is a Parish Priest in France, while an Abbe is:

1) a French Abbot

2) a title used in addressing any other French cleric, such as a priest.

I guess it all depends on which road you travel......... Abbe Road?
