do you agree with this. at any stage in any relationship at any one time there is always one partner who has more love than the other. this swaps from partner to partner until inevitably fizzles out and ends unless they are very committed or have kids??????????

I do think you have a point about love ebbing and flowing over time, but this can go on indefinitely and does not have to fizzle

I disagree as well.
In my experience, the dynamics of a relationship can change from minute to minute, as well as day to day, and year to year.
My love for my wife is constant and steady, and rarely alters, wheras she can hate me severely one day and love me loads the next, depending on a variety of circumstances.
It comes down to the differencce in out personalities - we are all a product of our upbringing and temprement.
I certainly don't believe in an inevitable 'fizzling out' - I think you reach a stage where you know you are going to be together for the rest of your lives, and you accept the pluse and minuses that go with that situation.

lol @ leggy - so quick! Wholeheartedly agree with Andy, very well put. I totally loved my husband, warts and all, but alas after a long marriage he changed how he felt about me. It will always be the saddest thing that ever happened to me as he is now with someone else and I still feel exactly the same.
