I love my coffee in the morning, however my shiatsu practitioner friend says that caffeine taken the same time as fruit/vitamins/vegetable/protein actually blocks any of this goodness being digested by the body. Most people I've asked since disagree with this, does anyone know where I can get a definite answer! One love and thanks

If that was true half the people in my office (who drink coffee all day long) would have died of malnutrition by now, so it sounds a bit suspect.

I avoid it though. I don't like the effect it has on my nerves.
This article says coffee takes vitamins out of the body so she maybe has a point.http://www.mcvitamins.com/Health%20Opponents/C offee.htm
You mean you don't like feeling wired, ludwig?? ;o)
Try redbush tea, its caffeine free and tastes better than any brand of decaf coffee I have ever tried
yeah as rosetta said redbush tea is the one! lovely taste and full of antioxidants!
Why are you taking dietary advice from a masseuse?
I think caffeine can inhibit absorption of iron? Amongst other reasons, this is why it is not reccommended that pregnant women and children drink caffeinated drinks, particularly with food.
I wouldn't think that one coffee a day is going to cause all that much damage if you have a generally healthy lifestyle and diet anyway, if the number of coffees you have a day out numbers the number of fruit / veg portions you have then I would think about cutting down.
