The second person to answer a question has the lowest amount of money in the bank and therefore is the weakest link statistically. The third person to answer a question is then 2nd weakest link etc. Length of time taken to answer isn't a factor

pauln90 - I don't know whether you got your answer from an "official" source, but any-hughes' answer makes sense.
I'm NOT trying to start an arguement, but it seems unfair that the second person to answer a question should be deemed "the weakest link" when they have had no control over the amount of money in the bank.
Also, surely the person who answers the first question has the least amount of money in the bank as the amount will be zero?

If you watch the programme closely the second person to answer a question, provided all answer correctly, is always "statistically" the weakest link.
The person who answers the first question also "banks" the 1000 so is the strongest link.
Do you really think that they have stopwatches at the ready to time the length of time it takes to answer.

Well thanks everybody, didn't want to start a row so chill out! I think the 1st to answer and therefore Bank reason sounds most likely. But don't forget, it is shot on video and therefore using the continuity recorder it would be very quick to check the time it takes to answer each question. Which would give an accurate reading down to one 25th of a second. gav.
