They're good players (Torres especially) they allow you to compete in games.
Gerrard is an out and out match winner, he's pulled them through so many games it's uncountable.
When they're struggling, the whole team look to him to do something special and he rarely (if ever) disappoints.
I can't recall a commentator ever saying Gerrard had an off day.
