Should postal votes be allowed especially as vote rigging is now a major concern?

The system that is going to be used is far to easily abused. Postal votes should be allowed for elderly, immobile, disabled and those who will be out of the country for legitimate business or family reasons. Surely it is  not too much to ask the general public to go down to the local school/village hall/community centre to put an x in a box. I know it is suposed to make turnout higher, but there will be arguments about this and it's going to go on for months, and the conspiracy theorists will have a field-day.

 

The best voting system is a simple one.

greenday..its okay for some but my voting place is quite a distance as i live on the border of two areas..i dont have a car and didnt vote until i was allocated a postal vote..the sad thing is their will be a polling station 200 yards from my house but i am not allowed to vote at that one..people have different circumstances..and if i didnt have my postal vote then their is no way i am trudging a long walk..for any politician..if they want my vote and i dont get my postal vote then they will have to fetch me..

I think not. Postal votes should be used only for those who cannot get to a polling station.

This is a system open to abuse as we have just been hearing on the news.

For the first time ever I have applied for a postal vote as I shall be out of the country for the election (and the week before - LUCKY me).
Today I've had a letter saying my application has been approved and a voting form will be sent out nearer the time.
As this letter has taken the authorities almost 2 weeks to send somehow I am not confidant of actually being able to vote before I go on holiday.
This will the first election I will have missed voting in since I was old enough to vote in 1972.
