I am probably being a bit naive here, but Rover is/was a business, and if a business does not make a profit, then it goes bust.I am desperately sorry for all those people that are likely to lose their jobs, but why should the government, or SAIC bail out a company that has continuously lost millions of pounds.

The Gov. is only involved with this for one reason only, there is an election coming up. Why do they not get involved with all the other failing businesses ?
i have had bad rovers and good ones over the years but it boils down to the fact --rover was to big to become a niche market like tvr etc and to small to compete with the big boys like ford etc.i also thought vultures only preyed on the dead---china got in while rover was still alive ---what else is britain going to let go in the way of technology.
