Have just re-discovered Dark Side of The Moon after a number of years, and forgot how good it is - right, my question is, anybody know how they got the name Pink Floyd?

I believe they were named after two Bluesmen: Pink Anderson and Floyd Council.

Wasn't it Pink Anderdon?
You may well be right, brachiopod.

Had a bit of a Google and it would appear to be Anderson. See here for some sombre evidence:

Dude, who cares if its Anderson or Anserdon or Anderarethon, the point is, his first name was Pink.

Yep, it appears to be Anderson.

I've thought it was 'Anderdon' for nearly 25 years!! I've just checked an old book where I originally read where they got their name from and it says "Pink Anderdon" - bloody mis-print !!

(I'm going to write to Roger Wafers and Dave Glimmer and complain.)

Whether his surname was Anderdon or Anderson is precisely what Answerbankers care about,  Dan the Pyro!
