Hi
Not sure if this question is in the right section but here goes. I have a Haig Dimple whisky bottle (empty !) that is covered in a very intricate silver filigree pattern (.925 silver) and a matching miniature. Does anyone know where I might get an honest valuation on these items ?
Many thanks

Any local auctioneer who sells antiques and collectible items will give you a valuation free of charge. Of course, it's always best if you give the impression that you might be thinking of selling the item but auctioneers are used to giving obligations without obligation.

I've had loads of items valued in just this way. I've even walked into one of London's top auction rooms (Bonhams) and been given valuations (and lots of other information) by one of the same guys that people queue for hours to see on the 'Antiques Roadshow'. (I just had to wait about one minute for him to come downstairs).

Er "obligations without obligation"? I've not touched a drop yet, honest!

That should, of course, be 'valuations without obligation'.
