Kayakamina ... would you be SO kind as to give me the Clue (and probably, answer) for 1D ? I do not have it in my downloaded version of the grid ... and hence have very little idea of what the rest of that corner (top L H) means. MANY thanks.

HEY! thank you all. I figured it out ... at last ... "Sightscreen"

But I am flummoxed by 54 A. It seems that the answer must be "Hardshoulder" ... but what was the clue????

Actually this could be a NEW type of crossword. You have a filled-in grid, and then you try work out the clue!!!!! :)) :))
