I have just had my new online quarterly duel fuel bill, the first one for a winter quarter in this new house, for 98 days gas and electric it is 446.69 inclusive of VAT, standing charges etc, that works out at 4.76 a day for both services, that sounds quite reasonable doesn't it? It works out at 31.89 a week for 14 weeks. we've had the central heating on 3 times a day every day along woth the hot water too and so the house has always been lovely and warm all day long. I'm quite pleased with that.

I pay around 500 a year for dual fuel. :)
depends on the size of the house, doesnt it?
Certainly does - mine is a 3 bed semi.

we haven't shown any thrift at all with the heating or electric, that is probably why it is as high as it is, i expected the quarter to be 500, which is why i am abit pleased. We have used almost an equal amount of gas as electric, and there are 3 computers here, 4 tvs, a playstaion 2, an x box and they are on most days. we use the fan oven at least twice a day and the washing machine is on every day. I know the heating has been on during the day almost every day as my son;s GF is here all day on her own, I shall be asking my son and her for a chunk to cover their share, which i;ve just paid out on my card, might ask them for half lol
You should get a good discount by paying by direct debit, dot - around 10% usually.
Fuel is expensive which ever way you pay for it , my gas is 57 a month DD , and my electric 65 a month on pay card .
You just got a 500 bill??

I would collapse in a heap if that dropped through my door :o(
i pay around 20 a month on Electricity (prepaid - so i must be paying alot more), and i live on my own little apartment, but i am very careful how i use my elec, i dont leave anything on standby, i switch everything off when i go to bed or leave the apartment. the first month i lived there i didnt do that and it cost me around 30+!! rip off!
I would also collapse if I got a quarterly 500 bill!

oh yes i just remembered that it includes almost a month of the christmas LEDs outside and in, though they are meant to be low energy.
I think we are heavy users of electrical equipment here, with all the technology stuff, I do turn the sky box and tv off standby at night down here, but i think my son leaves all of his on standby including the sky+ box upstairs.
I paid by card Ethel, maybe I should set up a D/D then, though that would ,mean a monthly payment wouldn't it and they would estimate the amount on this bill.
Sounds good but I'm with Lak... I think I'd cry if I saw that!
dot your contribution to saving the envioroment is non existent.......lol

It's a duel bill though sara, so that's 208.75 for electricity and 257.94 for gas, 2.13 a day or electric and 2.63 a day for gas, that sounds reasonable I think , considering our life styles at the moment.
