after defaulting on council tax,local council passed my debt on to an agency,after forwarding proof of income and making an offer of payment of �12.50wkly,they have replied demanding �65pwk!!! They r askn 4 the first paymnt 2mrw,their letter arrivd y2dy.Can they legally do this?&as i cannot possibly meet their demands,what is the next procedure for the agency&myself????

You really need to get some advice from CAB or similar.
I dont think they can only give you 2 days notice to make payment.
You must make a complete and honest statement to them about income and expenditure.
Your first priority should be morgage or rent. If the company ignore those you could become homeless and I don't think they can do that.
Check the web for debt advice.I think there is a government backed one.
Look for .gov. something.
