we've got about a quaerter of an inch of light soft snow here in Preston, but apparently that has still caused disruption locally. Looking at the pictures on sky news, it's hardly a covering but still the travel problems!

just don't lose any pay by leaving too early, many firms may take the opportunity today to cut their wage bill, any non-attendance due to travel will be unpaid leave.
Couple of inches of snow up here, just outside Manchester. Childrens's school is shut (it's at the foot of the moors) but daughter had to make it into college in town. Lads and I are settling down to hot choc and biccies :o)
Just started snowing again in Hastings. I think it's the one occasion I am happy to be housebound.
There is about 8 to 10 inches in Croydon like Gormy said. I txt my boss to say that I wouldn't be able to make it in. No buses working. It takes me 1 hour to walk on a normal day so I don't know how long it would take me in the snow. I was supposed to be going to the theatre tonight but my mums going to see if she can change the date.
We have several inches and it's obviously affected the postman as we usually get our letters about 3pm and they were delivered about an hour ago.Very strange
