Try and talk to her about custody arrangements as it will be very important for the children to see her and know she is ok.
Talk to the children about what has happened assuring them that whilst mammy and daddy are no longer living together they do and will always love them. Try to be as honest as possible with the children maintaining their routines as much as possible to ensure minimal disruption to their lives. They will be feeling anxious and upset at present talk to their schools and ask teachers to keep a close eye on them. Good luck

has she said she is going to take them? Maybe the other guy won't want them?
Go and get legal advice as pinktwink has suggested. I'm sure your 2 eldest will be asked who they want to be with. Just because she is the mother doesn't mean she will automatically get custody.
I'm sure at the end of the day she wants what ais best for your children as clearly you do.

technically yea she can lookt to take them your 16 and 13 your old can vote with their feet and decide to stay. This may be harder for the young on e hwo will feel torn. Whatever about your relationship with her she is still their mum. Hence the importance of having an agreement in writing regarding custody and access which protects your children from more upheave;. As far as parental rights go yee both have equal rights to the children

My mum walked out on me and my sister when we were 7 and 9. My dad was worried we would want to leave him and live with her and the bloke she had been having an affiar with. No way! We stayed with Dad and never once wanted to live with mum. I hope your kids feel the same. Even if they do end up going (for whatever reasons), just knowing that you were desperate to keep them with you will mean a hell of a lot and they will still want you in thier lives.
