Or are most knife crimes in the capital due to knife wielding black youths? OR are the papers only reporting on knife crimes being caused by black youths??

The vast majority of stabbing victims and perpetrators in London are black. The newspapers and television have rightly highlighted the issue.

'White-on-white' crime is reported, but it normally focusses on the lads and lasses who drink lots then end up beating bells out of each other in dormitory towns every weekend.

The good thing about the papers and telly is that they always publish a picture of the victim, so the dailymailers can't accuse them of trying to sanctify the news.

Looks like a fairly even split to me between white and black (above), although there aren't pictures with most of them , so I can only make wild assumptions based on name and locality, which is borderline offensive.

The white stabbings tend to be one off events, the black stabbings fit more easily into a trend surrounding gang violence, hence Operation Trident. This is why we hear about them more often, even if they might not be more common in the grand scheme of things
