"Golliwogs"

I dunno,
All the response these comments have generated seems to pale into insignificance somehow . . . . after watching the series on UKTV History - Auschwitz(currently on @ 5.00pm each evening) about the Nazi extermination camps during WWII.
An example from this evening's programme, where 4,000 children (aged 2 - 14) were forcibly taken from their parents (bad enough) & then all gassed as one.
As politically incorrect as these "Golliwog" comments may be, surely this puts it into perspective ?
It does for me . . . a golliwog to me is still a toy from my childhood, or the emblem on the front of the jam I used to have on my toast in the mornings !!

There should be more innovative ways of marking existing questions, the creation of new and different questions in line with a more enlightened marking system. Not enough people are passing exams. Urgent attention required.
EVERYBODY should go to university. Everybody should get a Triple First. If it means adjusting the examination system, then sobeit. Oxford and Cambridge have for far too long claimed (falsely) to be centres of excellence. They are just cesspits of privilege. I should know, I went there. Only one of them, but that's not the point. The days of Isaac Newton are long gone, the days of innovative science are dead, and how glad we should all be, because enforced racial equality is so much more important.
I thought there was some "hoo ha" in the press a while ago about the exams being too easy (because so many were getting A grades, or something ?)
However, I do believe that if a child wants to learn, they will. Unlike me, when I was at school - I just wasn't interested ! Fortunately, my daughter was not like me - she got all straight A's (most A*'s) then a 1st class honors degree from Imperial College, now lives in LA - doing research for NASA, through UCLA !!
And I'm very proud of her !

Well it would take the unemployment figures down, if everybody went to uni for say 6 years, we could wipe at least 1 million people from the out of work list, because they would be in full time study, Gormless you are a true Genius, you have solved the work problems in the Uk with your idea. please tell Gordon tomorrow, you could get a seat in the house of lords for this.
Yes raysparx, if we all pull together we can do it.
I would stop referring to "gangs of youths", rather I would reclassifiy them as "students", enrol them in Life Termination Studies at the Lambeth College of Slightly Further Education (postcode SW3). I would be sure that they all got a First or Upper Second (this might need some gentle re-eduation of the examiners), then I would appoint them all brain surgeons at Guy's
Britain sorted.
