Interview for Learning Centre co-ordinator
Hi, I have a job interview for a Learning Centre Co-ordinator and in my interview letter, it also said this:
As a co-ordinator, you will be delievering a range of student sessions designed to engage the learner and enable them to progree and achieve the programme's learninig outcomes. We would like you to demonstrate your teachhing strategies to 2-3 members of staff, using a topic within your curriculum area.
Please prepare a 10 minute theory or practical session on an aspect of applying for a job indicating the course or type of learners you are teaching. You are expected to demonstrate your teaching mthods, how you would structure student learning, how you would check learning had taken place and the appropriate use of resources and student activities.
An overhead projector, PowerPoint and a flipchart will be avialble.
My question is, how would you approach this? in the job spec it said i might be doing up to 8 hours of teaching a week. My 'Curriculum area' is media so i was thinking of doing a presentation using PowerPoint about how to get a job in television. Do you think this is the kind of thing they want to see?
Please help! This job sounds so good for me and i am really keen to get it.
Thanks

It sounds like they're going to be looking more at your teaching style and how you would ensure that teaching objectives have been met, rather than the actual content of what you are teaching, so as long as you make sure that the 'students' leave with a full understanding of the topic, then you should be fine.
