Has anyone driven to alicante?
I am having to drive to alicante from the Uk and would like to know if there are any high bridges I have to cross as I have a fear of heights bear in mind I hate the QE2 Bridge crossing and also what about the mountains in france and spain

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.I have driven from the UK to Alicante (and beyond) a few times. The route I took - which seemed the shortest - used the A71 and A75 autoroutes. The only high bridge I can remember is the Millau viaduct on the A75.
This can be avoided by turning off the autoroute at junction 45 and using the old road through Millau itself. You rejoin the autoroute at junction 47.
However, having used that route in the past remember it being a very twisty and hilly road.
Once you reach the Mediterranean you can use the A9 coastal road and avoid the mountains.
