5d immeasurable; very gret(7) 13a the male voice intermediate between alto and baritone(5) 17a went or brought forward in position(8) 23a destruction, devastation(5) cheers
Surely 'immmense' cannot be right as it would not fit with the cross words which I think are 'Blyth', 'Mary Pickford' and 'lanyards'. The only word I can think of which fits is 'abysmal' which is not a match for the clue. Any other ideas anyone?
Abysmal is correct. In Chambers it comes under abysm. The abysmal = very bad, bottomless, unfathomable, very deep. So it would fit in with immeasurable.
