When my son was born I put the wrong guy on the birth certificate. He is now four and I have been trying to get a DNA test done so i can fix it. But now that he is four the state says they cant do anything even though i have been trying for 4 years to get this done. Does anyone have any advise on this so i can put the right person on the birth certificate.

I think the law in the UK might be different to in the US, and even that could vary from state to state, I don't know. Try googling what you want to know, but I'd say that, if you knowingly entered the wrong man's name on your child's birth certificate, then you've committed an offence. Also, why are you trying to change it now? If it has anything to do with money you might get for your child, you'd probably have to get one or both of the men to do a DNA test, which could be very costly, but a child deserves to know who its father is, and in case of certain illnesses, it'd be wise to own up and get it sorted out.
