Listen to this......a friend of mine insists that if you are standing on the east coast of Ireland looking east you are looking towards the east coast of England. Where does he get this from: he's adamant about it. How does one convince him that he's full of, well, blarney?

Ireland, you would see the most westerly part of Uk that would be Edinburgh which although on east coast of Scotland is WEST of Carlisle.
