Boris Johnson was today accused of changing his account of the arrest of Damian Green four times in an angry attack by a Commons committee.
During the hearing investigating events surrounding-Mr Green's arrest, the Mayor said he had been told about it by Mr Cameron at a service in Southwark Cathedral on November 27.
Conservative Mr Green was arrested and questioned over leaked information from the Home Office
Crucially, that conversation took place after Mr Green had been arrested.
Immediately after the session, Mr Johnson conceded he had also spoken to Mr Cameron earlier in the day over the phone and had been told then of Mr Green's arrest.
To add to the confusion, it is understood that Mr Johnson has since offered two further accounts of what he knew about Mr Green's arrest, prompting Mr Vaz to demand an accurate account.

Amusing in its own way, but stupid as a point. Suppose it were true, and proved, that Titian didn't live to 90. Brown's comparison was valid, in terms whether Titian was 90 or 86 when Titian is supposed to have made his remark about painting.
It would have been better for Cameron to note that Brown is 58. Titian had produced masterpieces in his craft by that age, even if he were modest enough to say, in very old age, that he still had more to learn. Brown hasn't achieved the first part yet and that he has much to learn remains .Comparing himself, in any way, to Titian is the height of conceit and inaccuracy !
