Spybot update

Has anyone here succeeded in installing the latest update for SpyBot 1.6.2? I tried earlier today and it failed miserably. Computer seems to be OK still

After I saw your thread, I tried to update my version of Spybot. Like you, I seemed to be unable to install it, but when I turned my computer on just now, I installed it without any problem.

When i tried install I got multiple message boxes about .dll files being 'read only' The options were retry, ignore, abort. Retry never achieved anything so I used ignore. At the end of the process I was still at v 1.6.0 and had lost a lot of updates. When I ran it, it went backj to Nov 2008 for updating. I have not tried anything more.

I installed it on a Vista machine without any problems.

On my XP computer I gotb the same as scotman, but I used sall the "ignore" options and it did install, but only after it restarted itself twice.

Sorry, I took the "retry" options, not the "ignore" ones.

I am running XP Home + SP2. I may give it another try sometime to see how it goes. Is there any significant improvement in 1.6.2?
