I think the difference is that they are different grapes ( if I'm completely wrong then sorry) I drink both Blossom Hill and Gallo Grenache and white Zinfandel and in my opinion you can't beat the Zinfandel, it's my favourite. However I buy whichever is on offer at the time, as I like both.
thanks for answers. I like them wines but looking for somethin cheap just that is nice after a hard days work. Those wines me and my bf normally get when we go out, he loves his wines! xx
I buy which ever one is on offer too! but I really pefer Grenache, I guess it's just a question of taste really, but they're both very nice................
Personally I don't like wine at all. I work in an off licence and we sell more zinfandel than grenache, although grenache is still popular. We are sold out of Gallo White Zinfandel and only a few bottles of Gallo Whte Grenache left as they are both on special offer at the moment! Don't know if that's of any help at all!
Have you ever heard of Ribera del Duero? This is a wine made in Spain which outclasses Rioja. It is made with the same grape as Rioja (tempranillo) but it grown under more extreme climatic conditions (hot days and cold nights). They call it the 'Fuego y Hielo' (Fire and Ice) effect, and it produces a much more meaty, jammy wine. Definitely Spain's best-kept secret! Also try Australia's Yellow Tail range (available in most UK supermarkets). The Merlot and the Shiraz are just divine.
