I had a post on here a while ago asking whether childbirth or epilation - which is the most painful!

useful do's & don'ts

DO

it in a well lit room

gag yourself to stifle the screams

wash the area with hot water (ideal after a bath or shower)

cool the area before epilation with the cooling gel pouch provided - could rub it over when finshed epilating

smother talcum powder on the area to be epilated (before)

don't do it whilst on your monthly cycle (more painful)

after you've finished put some moisturiser on

DON'T

use it on an eyebrows

do it when drunk

or for a dare

use the cat/dog for practice - RSPCA may be called

use it on the nether regions first - if you've never done it before - unless you want a sex change! lol

use it as a torture device (passible as a DO if into S & M)

use it on head hair - ouch!

use your children to practice on - RSPCC may be called!

use it on nasal hair - you know who you are

use it on eyelashes

Anymore tips anyone?

oh girls.. shame on you!

I epilate. it's fine.. get a grip!
max that wasn't a joke - she showed me the results
lmao! I hope it wasn't during coffee break in the staff room at work Craft!
I'm pretty sure that's impossible, but if it DID happen, well! lucky lady! lol
Do: Have a long warm bath before you begin, it opens the hair folicles so the hair comes out easier and less painfully.

Do: Take a paracetamol about 30/45 mins beforehand

Do: exfoliate the area a day or two before, helps loosen any blocked folicles/ingrown hairs.

Do: Hold the area of skin you are working on taut with the other hand. The hairs pull less (hurt less) and stand up better.

Do: Use a soothing aftershaving balm/moisturiser afterwards.

Do:If you are going to try underarms, inner thighs or any other sensitive bits, go and buy a topical analgesic cream from the chemists, and use it before- it will numb the area.

Shudder. You must be joking Sara - why put yourself through so much torture when there are kinder methods?
I'm with you Sara. I do my legs (full leg), and under arms, and during the summer or for holidays,my bikini area!

I find it much better than waxing as i feel more in control. Plus i have developed my routine to lessen the impact! (see tips in prev post) And the more you do it, the less it hurts.
think I'll keep going with the salon waxing
Try sugaring craft. It's about the same as waxing, pain-wise, but leaves your skin fantastically smooth afterwards.
Ladies, why do you do it? It sounds horrible
everything else is messy. I don't like mess :o/
