I don't know about that Cazz, although on paper I might be worth a bit, cash wise, I don't have a pot to P in. Both my parents were uneducated and worked in factories, we lived in council accommodation, until Maggie Thatcher granted it feasible for council tenants to become home owners. I suppose I had an impoverished childhood, but was determined to break the chain.

My sister on the other hand is the complete opposite. She never aspired to anything, had a series of abusive relationships, was a single parent and was never able to hold down any kind of job. She still lives in social housing and resents me for not being like her.

It's hard for me to say I'm of any particular class, as I don't feel working class and certainly don't feel middle either.

i am common as crap, with no pretentions. i am able to get on with anyone as i do not judge others, am liberal minded and intellegent. i think its rather amusing how people a) have to ask these questions; and b) usually insist they are middle class. according to most social models and types of definition, only around 20% of the population can be middle or upper class. so where does that leave the majority of the population?!!!!! also - why does it matter? people who usually have a preoccupation with this sort of thing are lacking in self esteem and social status (like my auntie linda - however, in reality she is a shallow, self-obsessed, snobbish waste of space who has actually acheived nothing in her life except looking down at others). i like people for who they are, not how much they will leave me in their will! it cracks me up how preoccupied the british are with social class and their observations on it x
