Hi there, I'm a bit worried at the moment. I've been taking Microgynon 30ED (The pill) for almost 2years, not had any problems until last week. (Thursday). I somehow started my period again 7 days after my last? it is light and still hasn't stopped, but I don't understand why it happened. I'm not suppose to have one till three weeks time.
Could Stress be cause of this?? I have been under a lot of stress lately and have not been eating properly (only having breakfast and Tea, cutting out Lunch-). Could this be the explanation or is their something wrong???

I have been on Mycrogynon for over ten years (except for the year off it when I planned and had my baby lol), I never experienced the problem you describe until recently, and I wound up taking three packets without a break because I was worried about the protection I was getting.

Basically, I think it was my own fault in that I might have been a bit lax in taking the pills regularly, I take them everyday, just not always at the same time.

I would imagine it is more than possible that stress and the change in your diet could cause your periods to lose sync, and for the the pill to be less effective (hence getting the period).

Make sure you use extra protection, and take the next packet without a break. Most importantly, try and make sure you look after yourself - having the stress of an unwanted pregnancy sounds like it is the last thing you need! x

thanks Natalie, i have also kept forgetting to take the pill at the same time maybe two three times for the past couple of months... possible 8-10 hours late. hence the stress.

maybe this could cause this. or maybe im worried they have changed the ingredients without telling me. as this is a brand new packet. i was wondering if anyone experienced the same problem.
I had this before when I took Microgynon 30 - kept getting random bleeds in the night

At the time the doctor said it was nothing to worry about and caused by the stress of my exams

However its still worth going to the GP if you can as they may decide a different kind of pill is more suitable for you

They decided that I shouldn't be talking MIcrogynon after I'd been on it for 5 years (!) and put me on a different pill
