The formula for 15% VAT has "vanished" off the spreadsheet.

When i try re-add the formula into celll next door

example: total is cell b1 - then add the following to celll c1 (=SUM(b1/100)*115 it won't let me add anything at all.

Any help?

Thanks in advance

Long winded way of doing it! (and with that opening bracket wont work)

use

=B1*1.15

if you can't enter anything in the cell at all have you protected the sheet by mistake? (though it should warn you if you have) but check on the tools menu then protection.

Don't think you want that first bracket there

e.g. (=SUM(b1/100)*115

should be

=SUM(b1/100)*115

Cheers,

If you just want the VAT element multiply the value by 0.15 If you want the total of value plus VAT multiply by 1.15 as Chuck says.
