Banana Bread

I've got a bread maker and am trying to make Banana bread/cake in it.

There's a receipe in the manual but it has turned out quite stodgy. In my mind, good cake/bread should be quite light and very banana-ry...it isn't.

Any ideas??

I also tried Banana bread/cake in breadmaker and it turned out stodgy. Unfortunately I haven't found any other recipes for it to use in a breadmaker.
