here are links on support groups who can assisit in advicing on effects. I guess it depends on the level and nature whether genetic or recently acquired. Men are more likely to get it and diagnosis over 40 more likely. Treatment is efective depending on each individual. I guess like other illnesses peole adapt diet and lifestyle. Hope the person is not a fan of green leafy veg and red meat as they will be off the menu

Hello rabbity. A relative of ours has it. It's been damned unpleasant for him, but he's much better these days, so I don't know whether he'll ever get rid of it altogether. He was 54 when first diagnosed with the trouble, and is now almost 57. I don't know a great deal about it, but know that he had to stop drinking, change his diet and have frequent blood taken from him. The latter seemed to help. x
Hiya icey. My relatives are just above that age. A horrible condition and the news has been quite shocking for my relatives. 1 starts having blood taken this week.....
at least they now know, after some time of suffering, what they are dealing with.
It was once thought rare but apparently 1% of marriages will be between carriers.
