Benefits claimants
20 Answers
This page is so full of spiteful hate towards people on benefits and so quick to try and pull the plug on said benefits!
What I want to know is how they could possibly want to let people go without money when they have children?
How this ' benefit shake up' would work (mainly people have said they want tighter testing to decide who's worthy of benefits)?
Why they moan so much about it? If its that brilliant why dont YOU go on benefits?

These days getting up the duff get's a house and benefits, a free life as it where. The current government might as weil open up governement impregnation centres.
They way is clear, no benefits, zero, zilch, they get a place to live and food and the necessities no actual money to spend on Xbox, fags and white lightening. They wont starve. It'll take a generation but soon but the next one will learn there ain't no free rides and dig themselves out of sh1t hole wih idiot parents, just like I had to.
The wisdom of the Geezer is strong today!

I hardly know where to start with your rant.
Nobody is against people on benefits, we are against people on benefits WHO EITHER SHOULD NOT BE, OR WHO ARE MILKING THE SYSTEM.
We want better testing of benefits because there a THOUSANDS of people (maybe hundreds of thousands) who are blatently LYING about how ill they are, or how difficult it is to get a job, or the fact they are living on their own when the are not.
And the reason we dont go on benefits is because some of us have some pride and we WANT to go out and earn our money to support our family.
We are not so lazy and lacking in any moral fibre to sit at home allowing honest taxpayers to pay their tax to keep us in benefits.

Mate, you so completely miss the point it is scary.
I don't believe anybody on this site objects to people receiving benefits who can't work.
People do, quite rightly, get seriously miffed at schleping their sorry arses on to the 7.56 to London Bridge (or whereever) every morning so that a large proportion of their income tax goes to pay for those that (a) can't be bothered to work or (b) breed for profit.
People who can't work deserve our help.
People who can't be bothered to work, do not.
And so that we are clear, if you can't afford children, keep your dick in your trousers, shut your legs or use contraception.
It isn't rocket science.

Sherman, I think it is because the government does not have money and it is the taxpayer who funds these benefits.
We have all seen pubs busy at 10.30 am with hardened drinkers putting their benefits monies down the toilet. That is what people object to, even those who are struggling to get by on benefits and raise their families properly.
I have no problem at all with people who cannot work through disability getting benefits, nor people who have lost their jobs getting benefits to help them through a sticky patch.
Living on benefits should never be a permanent lifestyle choice - that is what people rail against.

THIS is the sort of people we are against.
All three of these are just from TODAY. Imagine how much benefit fraud that equates to over a year (and these are the ones who are caught)

Im not against benefits as such, but more against those who deliberately ensure that they can get more money from the government by doing various things.
Im sure we all know people who have needed help in life and are glad that we have a system whereby they can get help, but we probably all know those who are happy with never working and having the basics provided for them forever, children or no children.
its the minority of claimers that abuse the system that could be the downfall of the system and make it harder for those in geniune need.

And THIS is why we should clamp down hard on benefit fraud.

A UK company moving to Poland and laying off 140 people in the UK (in the news today).
Why are they moving? Because it is cheaper to have the factory in Poland than in England.
And the reason for that is that Poland does not have thousands of people living on the dole and fiddling the benefit system.
This drives up tax in the UK, and makes it more expensive to have a business here.
This is why as a country we are going bankrupt.

Also, do you realise that when a person from Poland (or any EU country) comes to work in the UK they can claim benefits for children they may have in Poland. AND AT UK RATES.
So they get about 4 times as much (in real terms) for the children as they would in Poland.
What a totally stupid situation.
I dont pay my UK tax to pay for child benefit for children in Poland.
(I know the reverse is true, but a UK person in Poland would get child benefit at Poland rates which is far less than we get, so nobody in their right mind is going to do that).
Also many people who come here claim the UK child benefit, but ALSO get the Poland child benefit, so we are being screwed both ways.

A few days ago someone posted a story on here about a young single mum who gets over 1,000 a month in benefits.
http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/News/Question70 6420.html
The likes of you and me are paying for that. We pay our taxes and that piece of rubbish sits at home all day and is given over 1,000 a month for just having kids.
My daughter gets up at 6.30 every morning, goes to work 5 days a week and brings home half that.
Is that right?, is that fair? Of course not.
THAT is why we are so annoyed about the benefit system and the way it is abused.

oh come on The Sherman, I'm waiting to go home (from work) but really want to see how you can argue against any of the above (unfortunately (probably) unlike most, if not all, of the scum who choose not to work, I don't have a PC at home, so will have to wait until Monday to see your wrong argument!).
Theres so much to say in a minute!
Frst benefit fraud i am completely against!
Fraud is Fraud wherever you go!
Some people come from the most underprivilged parts of this country and really, and I do mean really don't know any better! i'm not saying its ideal and i'd say its more a cultural thing that a tax payer funding issue but you can't as a society take away benefits from someone who has just had a kid and has no money! to be cont'd.....

I don't mind people who are disabled from getting benefits, it's the single parents who go out intentionally to to get pregnant so that they can stay home and get everything paid for. They walk round in all the designer gear, going to the pubs with the kids and having a great life. My Husband has worked all his life, paid his taxes and has just been made redundant. What can we get? 60 per wk. We can't go out, or buy new clothes we are struggling like a lot of other people who have been made redundant and paid there taxes to get sweet f.a back
I work for the government (yeah-civil servant, I know) and see first hand what goes on, believe me any right-minded tax payer would want to string some of these scrounging, crooked barstewards up from the nearest lamp post if they really saw the fiddles some of them get up to. If that sounds harsh, so be it. We spend more time trying to keep up with thier scams than helping the genuine people that are truly entitled to benefits. Like most workers, I am totally happy to pay taxes to fund anything at all that aids really needy claimants, but things go on you would never believe.
Me and my bloke both work full time. Our house and lifestyle are by no means extravagant. We want to have a baby but can't afford to. I would have to go abck to work and wheres the point in that?
The lady up the road however has two kids by two diffirent dad's. Neither of whom are around. She sits on her lardy arse smoking fags and swearing at the kids all day. Oh look, shes pregnant again. Apparently it was unplanned. Or maybe it was because hers are fast approaching 16 and her benifits will be cut. Pop out another and shes sorted for the next 16 years!
We got some information round work about the proposed benefits shake up. The plan is to let single parents who are on benefits also keep all of the maintainece payments they get from the absent parent. So just wait for all the ladies to start popping out kids by numerous diffirent dads so they can get 15% of more than one mans wages on top of their benefits!
