I have several hard lumps

left over from a huge bruise I got above my knee a couple of weeks ago. (I got the bruise from hitting my leg on a post sledging down a hill, stupid idea, I know, but it was snowingggg!)
The bruise has fortunately pretty much faded apart from the edges, however I have several small hard lumps under the skin from where the bruise was, do you have any idea what these are and whether they will go away on their own or not?
I also have a similar lump on the side of my hand from when I crushed it sometime last month.

I have a couple of hard lumps on the front of my shin from when i fell down some concrete stairs (upright on my shins carrying a casserole!), in 1990!! (My god that hurt!)

I was told it was perfectly OK, just as a result of the bone surface being slightly damaged by the knock, and an extra bit of bone mending over the top.

Nothing to worry about, and that bits of you with not much flesh covering- shins, knees, elbows were most susceptible.

can sympathise - I have a large calcified lump on the side of my forehead caused by a horse getting his legs in a mess over a fixed cross country fence and falling on me. It happened years ago and I've lost count of the times I've been asked about it. it looks like a horn - tell people its the devil in me.!

I suffered an injury around 2 yrs ago which resulted in bruising, once that cleared, I was left with a painless, but unsightly large hard lump just below my knee. I had it for months and happened to mention it when I had to have something else checked out, the doctors couldnt fathom it out, so they x-rayed it, and then, as if by magic it disappeared! I had a lump in my breast, had a mammogram (thankfully it was nothing serious) - and again, it disappeared. I think the radiation in the x-rays break (the non serious) ones down and they just fade away, maybe worth a visit to the doc if unsightly.

In answer, i'm afraid yes, you will probably have them for life. I dont notice mine as much any more, but they are still noticable if i rub my shin. I also have a slight numbness over the patches, but nothing too bad. Its just odd when i scratch them and i cant feel it!
