Easy to Understand Current Affairs
Is there a website which gives SIMPLE, easy to understand, current political affairs (conflicts etc.)? I have started a new job and need to gen up on the subject but find it hard to get my head round the subject. I would like to know who's at war with whom, why and what the way forward is?

These papers have "proper" journalists (unlike the Sun or Mirror) and have full length articles where world events can be explained and discussed.
These papers do also have web sites so you could try looking at them.

For example, look on the right hand side of this page for background and Q&As on Afghanistan.

Stick with the news section here. I find AOG a mine of information about what's happening at home and abroad. He manages to explain complicated government policies in a simple and easy to understand manner. He's well respected for his fair and balanced views and in depth analysis. Watch out for his insight on world events, you can't go wrong.
