Just recently my windows media player stops showing mpeg clips about 5 seconds into the clip yet the sound remains. I have upgraded WMP 10 but this has made no difference. I don't seem to be able to uninstall it either - any clues?

Not sure why this would happen after 5 seconds. Having said that, sometimes you can get sound only, and no images, if you don't have the correct codec installed. Try the G-Spot codec information appliance. This will tell you if you have what you need. Or if not, what you should get.
