Advent Laptop Space Bar problem
I'm sure there is some clever bod out there who can tell me how to replace the space bar properly onto an Advent 9517 laptop. I removed a few keys to clean underneath and the little ones pop on just fine, but the space bar has proved a bit troublesome as it has a metal wire underneath and I can't see how it fits on so that the space bar is activated even when you just press either side of it.
At the moment, you have to make a very definite press right in the middle to get a space and it now "clacks" when pressed! Help!
Thanks in advance.

.... practice ... yep - they are difficult to get back ...stick with it ... sometimes an open paperclip can be useful ... but you'll need to bend it just right.
secondly
DON't TAKE IT OFF AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I hear they are quite difficult to get back!!
you can't (shouldn't) clean a keyboard by regularly taking the key caps off ... eventually you'll just end up with a doorstop .... and the abridged version of scrabble
try dunking your biccies ... less crumbs

Cheers for your reply A.t.T! :-)
If you could explain to me the bending with a paperclip bit?! What am I aiming to do with the wire? The ends don't seem to have an obvious corresponding slot!
I will most certainly NOT be removing the flippin thing again though! I suppose a better idea would be a can of compressed air? (is that suitable for a laptop?) Although I do kind of begrudge paying a fiver for a tiny bit of air!! :-s
