7 Answers
A one off TV drama (I think).
Watched this when I was young, early/mid 80s. Cant remember anything at all about it but it must of touched me because I can remember the phrase "P'Tang Yang Kipperbang". Not to sure about the spelling.
Thanks

If you're VERY quick (you've an hour or so) there's a copy on eBay, but bidding is already up to 13.70: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=435 9&item=6323195018&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW
As I remember it was about first love, Cricket & Girl in class. There was a scene where the shy young hero is trying to either talk to the girl of his dreams or ask her out, and the scene is interspersed with Cricket commentary and as he fluffs asking her out the commentary highlights the "missed" oppourtunity accordingly.e.g. "He's missed his chance of a big innings today and he trudges back to the pavillion with his head hanging in shame." As he trudges home annoyed with himself for failing to ask her out.
