In our conservatory, the seal where the double glazing and window sill meet has gone a bit mouldy. I have tried to clean it with bleach, but it had little effect. I don't want it to become too unsightly, does anyone have any ideas as to what would clean it off? Thanks.
Hi Mrs poppins, Try something like Dettox Mould & Mildew remover. It usually does the trick, just either spray it on or put it on a cloth and wipe it on then leave for a while and wash off. If it doesn't get rid of it all the first time do it again.
hi if you mean the mastic seal, you'll have to cover it with more mastic or remove it all together and reseal, bleach and mould remover doesn't get rid of the same problem here, ive tried the lot
Hi I wouldn't cover it with more mastic as the problem will still be there. I would remove it altogether then put new on if doing what I said in first post didn't work. If it is not too bad a problem the dettox should work fine. By the way has the sealer got a dull finish or is there a shine on it?
Lol mandimoo! Thank you for all the very helpful answers. I got some dettox this morning and gave it a good clean ( with an old toothbrush) and it is almost totally gone. I'll give it another go tomorrow. Thanks again folks!
