My tarmac drive is mainly in the shade and gets moss and/or green algae on it. I've tried Algon but didn't work. This week I have put loads of salt on it, scrubbed it with a stiff brush and am waiting for the rain to wash it off. Any other ideas please.

try jeyes fluid and a good scrub.
try pathclear, you just dilute the sachets of powder in a watering can and water it on. gets rid of just about anything, including green and black algae.
Buy a bag of soda chrystal for about 80p from a supermarket. It states on the packet that it removes moss from paths and patios.
Sprinkle liberally over the moss, wet the chrystals and leave for a few days.
I used it last year on my tarmac and it really did work.
When it turned brown I brushed it off with a stiff brush.
A product called Armilatox available from gardebn centres will kill it off - just dilute and sprinkle on with a watering can - it stinks like Jeyes fluid for a couple of days but the smell does go.
