At the beginning she seems to behave as a woman 'should' - she is pretty, cheerful, responds to men and stands in contrast to Katherine.  Once married she becomes 'shrewish', nagging her husband etc, and again contrasts with Katherine who is now tamed.  Probably best to avoid labelling the sisters as the good one and the bad one, and be aware of what was considered appropriate behaviour for women then.
