In all that is going on in with the world, credit crunch,horrendous bushfires causing death,soldiers dying in afghanistan,children getting abused and suffering,why oh why do the media put this at top of the media agenda,i couldnt give a scooby about carla romano spouting on about who she has met and interviewed and all that follow so called celebrity culture!!!

I think Kate Winslett might have won because the competition this year was not brilliant.

The year that she (famously) didn't get the Oscar for Titanic (even though Titanic swept the board with everything else) the Best Actress was Helen Hunt, for As Good As It Gets. That was a stunning performance, and Kate didn't stand a chance.
