thinking of Sailors Suspect etc but the W has really got me with only 3 letters.No doubt easy when answer is revealed.

This is probably totally wrong, but could it be sailors wae?
apparently a wae means a wave. As I say, this is a really long shot, but I thought it was worth a go.

Thank you Scotman, Barmy and Johana 02. I heard last night that the compiler of the quiz said . "Do not worry about Jack's Clue to flee ",as she had had a brainstorm. What that means I do not know but maybe they will disregard it. Thank you all for our help. So sorry it has caused everyone to puzzle over Quiz due in ,March 20th so quite a long wait for the answers.
