Unfortunately, even with all your good wishes, it is not good news, my lump turned out to be a cancerous tumour and I have to have a mastectomy on the 11th of March. After the initial shock I now feel quite positive and consider myself lucky that I found it sooner rather than later. Anyway thanks again. Kath. XXXXX

I'm so sorry to hear that kitty. You seem to have accepted the mastectomy very quickly. It's amazing you are being so positive. Good for you xxx
Hi, I didnt see the original post, Im sorry to hear your news. As you say, being vigilant and catching it early does make a difference.
Best wishes for your op and recovery xx
Im sorry for your bad news kitty and Im not suprised that it hit you for six! I wish you all the luck and good health in the world. xx
gosh, I'm shocked but your attitude is great.. better to lose a breast than your life.
all the best for the op and your recovery x
Hi Kath,
I did reply to your other thread wishing you well.
Unfortunately, i got bad news as you did a year ago. I did not want to post and say that yesterday as it may have worried you. I had a partial mastectomy and am fully recovered.
I wish you the very best. I stayed positive and I hope you can too. You sound like you are strong enough. It is not as bad as people think. Like you, my Surgeon considered me to be very lucky to have it detected so early. Please keep in touch. xxxx
So very sorry to hear that your news was not the kind you had hoped for.As you have said being positive is the way forward for you at this time. Will be thinking of you so much in the days ahead, and wanting only the best for you.

Please take care of yourself , stay as focussed as you can, and remember there are many on A.B for you ,at any time.

Sincerely B XX
Oh kitty what a brave girl, with that attitude you will get through big big ((((hugs))))

lucky you to have caught it so quickly - it won't be too long before you are well and wondering what all the fuss has been about - great attitude and that's what counts - when I was having radio and chemo my crazy cousin kept ringing to ask if I was having my 'cabbage juice' today' - don't ask as I also have no idea what she was talking about - but we were both in hysterics over it and this passed onto the hospital staff who said they looked forward to my session as it was so much fun for them! Keep laughing and all will be well. xxx
For some reason I only just noticed this thread, but would like to offer you my warm wishes and good luck. My sister had a cancerous lump they caught early, had her masectomy and is now 8 years on perfectly fine, so your right to be positive about it.
Sorry to hear that kitty , but so glad you went forward to have the tests and are able to have the mastectomy to catch it as early as possible and aid your recovery . All the best honey , x
Hi Kitty, I too was one of the ones who replied to your earlier thread and I thought you would be fine. I was sorry to read your news but, like the others on here, I admire your positive attitude. Good luck and very best wishes from me and hope all goes well for you. x

I would just like to say a big thankyou to you all for your very welcome comments and good wishes. I think I have amazed myself about how I am feeling, I think maybe I am just glad to know what it finally is and I must say I have had the best 2 nights sleep since I first found the lump, I don't know how long I will feel like this, maybe as the time nears for the operation I may fall to pieces but then again I may not. I have been told by my youngest daughter (age 37) that I will have to change my AB username to kitty1titty, that had us all creased up with laughter, at least she isn't moping about it. So thanks again just for being there. Love Kath. XXXXXXXXX
Oh kitty , hee , that's so sweet a sense of humour :-) x
