Microsoft Outlook Inbox Columns
4 Answers
Hello, I use outlook 2003 for work and I recieve loads of emails. I want to create a column in my inbox that shows what emails I was in the cc field rather than to field. There is a default CC column but that then displays everyone in the CC list rather than just me or a tick which is what I actually want......any ideas?

I don't want to display the To field in my inbox either as if it has been sent to lots of people it will list a load of names.
I know you can do this in Lotus Notes so how sure are you when you say it can't be done?

it probably can be done using custom field formulas, but there appears to be no documentation on creating the formulas..(and I've not got time to play about and work it out at moment)
you could get the mails to show a different colour if your name is in the CC field if that will do
Tools > Organize
Click the link labled Using Colors
Click the Automatic Formatting... link to the upper right (in the Organize area) for more advanced formatting criteria.
Click Add
Name the formatting rule.
Click Condition...
Place a check mark in: Where I am
Click the drop down arrow and select: On the CC line with other people
Choose your Font and Color.

just had a play about with the above that I suggested... works well, I now have mine setup to show all mails that are to me in red and all that I am only CC'd on in blue...
I'm gonna leave it like that, it's actually quite handy and in my opinion easier and clearer than having a column telling you the info.
