3 Answers
hiya there... I have a 5 year old westie... we have had him York tested and found out he is allergic to Soy Bean, Beef and dust& storage mites...
We have changes his diet, and are bathing him in Malaseb shampoo now..
The vet has suggested we put him on the Immunatherapy injection thing... i was just wondering do any of you have your dogs on this or any experience with this.
Thanks XXX

The vet told her some dogs still need other medication but some respond just to the injections. You won't know till you try, but take the vets advice, my friend's dog has a seasonal allergy to grass and pollen, so in the winter the injections are only given if he flares up, which is rare.
I've got a blue staffie and she's allergic to storage mites and 2 types of fungus. We started the immunatherapy about 2 years ago and I haven't looked back.
Before we started the treatment she had lots of bald spots and nothing was helping but we started to see an improvement within 3 weeks of the injections.
I got the vet to show me how to do the injections so I could administer it at home. The first 3 weeks to a month she needed several small injections and had I not done it at home it would've been several visits to the vets.
Her coat is now glossy and thick and she looks beautiful.
Only downfall to our treatment is that she wasn't insured when we started the whole procedure so we have to pay for the vial out of our own pockets. But hey what's 140 a year for someone you love:-)
