i really enjoy a big bowl of cabbage sprinkled with vinegar. Where does this dish come from, it is certainly not a London dish does it come from up north somewhere.

please does anyone know

I didn't realise this was a particular dish - my sister in law has vinegar on all her vegetables. Not my cup of tea tho :-)
dunno jan but i had3 bacon an cheese oatcakes for my lunch lol...................................

Sounds more like a sourkraut derivative, which is German.I had some at my ex wife's ( whose now living in Germany). She fries it with vinegar and bacon... it was really quite nice actually.
I can only eat runner beans with vinegar on them!
well if its a german thing its traditional british royal family food
